You gotta hand it to Sally Jackson. It's never easy being the mother of a demigod, especially one of the big three. How many times has Sally watched her son go off to school, go to camp, or even walk down the street to the store, and wonder if he'd ever come back. She's had to stay strong for him throughout everything - fighting monsters, going on quests and disappearing for weeks, and now months at a time. She still has to get up in the morning, go to work and make a living while her son's life is placed on the line. And now he's been thrown into Tartarus and still, Sally has to get up every morning and pretend nothing is wrong.
I'm tearing up, Gods. I never really thought about it like that. Poor Sally, her life sucks. Her parents died, doesn't get her high school degree, uncle dies on her, loses her son constantly. At least she has Blowfish now
I know!! You hardly ever hear about Sally. Since Last Olympian Sally has only ever had three mentions - once in the Lost Hero (I think), once in Son of Neptune when Percy called his mom right before going into Alaska, and once when Annabeth reflected on visiting Sally during the months Percy was missing. This lady needs the freakin mom of the noble peace prize award.
I love how Percy describes her too. If I have a kid, I'm gonna treat them with as much love as Sally treated Percy with. No way am I being one of those mean mothers who make thier kids feel worthless. ( also like the way Leo describes his mom)
